Carina and Enzo’s Story
When multiple financial crises hit at once, Carina worried her children could end up hungry. Thanks to you, that didn’t happen …
Carina and her family never needed food assistance before. Her husband works long hours in a warehouse while she cares for their two little ones at home. But in recent months, life has gotten much tougher. As the economy has struggled, his hours have been scaled back. Smaller paychecks, coupled with skyrocketing grocery prices, have made it almost impossible to keep adequate food in the house.
Like so many across Arizona, Carina’s family is now living paycheck to paycheck, wondering if there will be enough money for food. Thankfully, caring friends like you who support St. Mary’s Food Bank are lending a hand to help during this challenging time.
Carina and Enzo’s Visit
“St. Mary’s gives us eggs, milk, cheese, fruit … everything to ensure our kids get the nutrition they need,” Carina said, her heart full of gratitude for the
nutritious food.
Three-year-old Enzo, one of Carina’s two children, loves fruit. Strawberries are his favorite and he’s always excited to find them among the wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables the family receives.
“This food means a lot because I can feed the kids whatever St. Mary’s gives us and know that it’s good,” Carina said. “It’s really nice that St. Mary’s supporters make this possible for us, for people who literally can’t afford food right now.” Carina isn’t the only one grateful for the help you’re providing. Every day, thousands of people rely on St. Mary’s Food Bank and you to help them get through tough times. Thank You!
