St. Mary’s Food Bank serves 9 of Arizona’s 15 counties, including the Coconino, Navajo, Apache, Mohave and Yavapai counties that span across several tribal communities in Northern Arizona. We are committed to volunteerism, building community relationships and improving the quality of life for all Arizonans in need. In Arizona, food insecurity is a problem 2 million Arizonans are faced with every year. Nearly 30% of our neighbors are considered working poor, living on wages that barely cover housing and other basic necessities. In tribal communities, we see a unique need.
St. Mary’s Food Bank is committed to improving the quality and relevance of the food distributed to clients throughout our Tribal service areas and to supporting local Tribal economies. In November 2021, we launched a Tribal Food Box to help increase access to traditional foods and support local tribal vendors through purchasing and partnerships. The non-perishable box is currently being distributed FREE of charge every month at participating Navajo Nation Chapter Houses and Hopi villages.
