Darling is a stay-at-home mom. Although her husband has a full-time job as a truck driver, they often struggle to have enough food at home. He earns just enough that they don’t qualify for government assistance. The thought of her two children, ages four and six, going hungry weighs heavily on her heart, filling her with anxiety and worry.
The rising costs of just about everything has put a huge strain on their family. Darling shared that St. Mary’s Food Bank has been a lifeline for her during some of their hardest times, especially when food and gas prices are high and money is tight. “You are helping so many families, especially mine,” she said gratefully.
Darling is incredibly appreciative for the support her family has received from St. Mary’s and compassionate friends like you.
She lights up when talking about the fresh fruits and vegetables they have gotten and fondly recalls the sheer joy of getting a turkey for Thanksgiving last year, a memory that still warms her heart.
